I really enjoyed class today! I loved the topic we were talking about and really was interested in the subject. I also really liked the way we did class differently. I absolutely loved Ms. White reading to us at the end. Also today means two more months and I will be a the big 20! Life is good.

  1. I too enjoyed class tonight. The book made me tear up some. My daughter is in first grade and is in reading recovery; this book just reiterates how kids feel who have speech and language disorders. She has recently been diagnoised with a language disorder as she has been in speech for 4 years. I try to help her, but last school year I worked over full time to help support my family as my husband was laid off. He is working and I am home a lot more so I can help her, but I still sometimes feel like a failure as a mother because she fell through the cracks and her language hasn't developed the same as her older sister's did. I try not to beat myself up over this, but it's still hard. So that story was good, but hard to listen to ast the same time.

  3. I agree I loved the worksheet that we did. I find hands on and discussions like that to be very helpful especially around test time.

Thanks for sharing the book tonight Ms. White it was great. I think my new favorite quote is from that book when the grandfather says, "Knowledge is like the bee that made that sweet honey you have to chase it through the pages of a book."

  4. I don't think I could have said it any better than Jessica or Heather! The story telling was great! And I too did tear up at the end, and esp where she talked about her grandmother telling her not to let go of the grass. Memories like that just never fade away.
Thanks, Mrs. White for sharing it!
